Cher's built by women who wanted style advice that levels them up, not by a big venture-backed software company that ultimately answers to billionaire bros. Cher's free to use. On the free version, you'll eventually hit limits around closet size and how much you can talk to Cher. Those limits reset every month. If you upgrade to Cher Premium, you'll be able to build much larger closets and talk to Cher a lot more.

You don't. Cher can help pick shoes for those capris, recommend jewelry for that dress, or give feedback on your OOTD. She can be really useful with just a few items. Cher can also add closet items from your mirror selfies, so the wardrobe she knows about grows over time as you get outfit feedback.

The more closet items you photograph and add to your closet, the more Cher can help. You definitely don't need to add everything to start working with her, but we recommend trying to add as much as possible over time. You might be surprised how she pulls out a kind of brilliant use case for the beige sweater in the back that you haven't worn since Covid. You can give her clothes, shoes, jewelry, bags, hats, scarves and she'll consider them when she styles you.

She automatically cleans up photo backgrounds. Just grab a quick and dirty photo. For real, don't stress if your floor is covered in laundry and your cat snuck in. The pic that gets stored will look nice.

Yes, right now Cher is only for iPhone. We hope to one day make her available for Android, but that day is not today.

Yes, Cher works on any gender identity and style profile. She learns quickly who you are and what you want to look like. As a brand new user, she'll assume you're a cisgender female. She'll figure out as you upload closet items and mirror selfies, and as you chat with her, if that's not who you are or the vibe you want. If you want her to know from the start, you can set your gender identity in your account settings and/or go to the "Tell Cher" section in settings and just explain in plain language how you identify and how you want to be styled.

No. Your closet, your outfits, your questions, everything--it's all private to your account. Other users have no way to see it. You could always choose to take a screenshot, and Cher has built-in share buttons that generate summary images you can text, email, and post, but you definitely have to do that on purpose.

She'll never sell your data. She's not that girl. We do send your photos and chats through a US-based AI model and some other subprocessors. We name each one clearly in our Privacy Policy. If this is something that really concerns you, we strongly suggest you also stop processing your childhood trauma with ChatGPT.
